Concept

Maaltaaba has supported some 18 orphan girls who are in KG1, 2 and classes 3, 5 and JHS 3. This support sometimes comes in the form of uniforms including sandals, a supply of text and exercise books. We also provide coaching and counselling services to the girls.

Challenges & Solutions

We also lobby duty bearers and some well-to-do people in the Winkogo community to support a widow who has 5 boys. This support comes in the form of payment of hospital bills and provision of foodstuffs. We have also collaborated with social welfare and community development to register our beneficiaries into the national insurance scheme. We have also lobbied with chiefs and landowners to release lands for our women who lost their husbands. Maaltaaba has also trained our women on the village savings and loans associations and also provided some boxes for them.
