Under the STAR-Ghana Foundation’s AVID-2 project, Maaltaaba Peasant Women Farmers Cooperative (MAPEWFAC) partnered with Naara Rural Bank to sensitize women’s groups (in both Talensi and Nabdam districts) on financial literacy. The trainings focused on savings, microcredit opportunities, and insurance products tailored for rural women farmers. Similarly, a resource person was invited to sensitize the women on the operations of MASLOC and how loans can be gotten from the institution. Trainings were also provided for the women’s groups on effective management of their Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) and leveraging their contributions to access credit from financial institutions.
