Maaltaaba Peasant Women Farmers’ Cooperative is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Officer to join its team. The Field Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring programs on the field, working closely with local communities, partners, and stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong background in community development, social work, or a related field, and experience working in a similar role.
Minimum requirements:
- A minimum of a University degree Community Development, Social Work, Project Management, Procurement/Supply Logistics, Agricultural Science, or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with an NGO.
- Strong understanding of community development principles and practices
- Knowledge of VSLA operations in rural areas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and other software applications
- Ability to travel frequently to field locations
- Knowledge of local languages and cultures in the Talensi, Nabdam, and Bongo Districts of Upper East Region
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement agricultural projects, ensuring timely completion and desired outcomes
- Farmer engagement and needs assessment
- Community mobilization
- Provide technical assistance and training to farmers on Village Savings and Loans
- Prepare regular reports, case studies, and documentation of project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned
- Oversee project budget to ensure effective resource allocation and financial accountability
- Attend workshops/training on behalf of the organization which may be within or outside the Upper East Region.
- Executing other duties (relative to the organization’s work) that may be assigned to you by management.
